Paved Paradise

Using the shopping mall and the parking lot as formal and conceptual frameworks, Julie Libersat examines consumption as a modern form of worship. Paved Paradise is an interactive exhibition and is part of an ongoing series of mazes executed through various virtual and physical mediums. Libersat employs symmetry and patterns to present the shopping mall as a temple of the golden age of capitalism and the parking lot as a labyrinth.
