Ridgecrest Circle Puzzles
During that time that I was working on the Ridgecrest Circle installation I also created puzzle versions of the neighborhood. The puzzles have marble tracks, spin on a lazy susan as well as interlocking puzzle pieces that can be lifted out.
I am interested in puzzles because they request interactivity and play. As both an artist and art educator, I am interested in creating puzzles because they are both an education for me (they become a puzzle to produce) as well as for the viewer. I want to intentionally place the art object into a pedagogical space where play and interactivity break the barrier between the viewer and the art object.
