Unlike GPS mapping applications, you never see a map of your location or yourself as a dot moving through a grid of streets. ROAM asks players to let go of control and explore the city focusing on observing and responding to their environment.

Players have the ability to customize how they get lost as well as how they capture their trip.

For example the app can be set to take a photograph every minute, prompt you to record an audio interview with a fellow passenger on the bus or keep you on side streets.

This allows players to capture the immersive experience of moving through space which a map can never reproduce.
